How does it work ?

Solar UV rays are absorbed by the photovoltaic panels which carries the DC current down the cables to an inverter, where an inverter converts the power into AC 230V so you can use the electricity within your home or business.

Can you store the power ?

YES! There are lots of different battery storage options now from different manufactures, so when you are generating power in the day time and you are not at home, or you are a business not working over the weekend, the solar energy does not go to waste. Once the DC current enters the inverter and there is no power being used within the property the inverter will divert the power to the batteries and charge them up ready for you to use when you are back in the property.

What happens to the excess generated renewable electricity if i have any left over, does it go to waste ?

No, nothing goes to waste we are MCS certified electrical contractors. This means that on completion of the installation we will provide you with our MCS number, which you can give to your chosen electrical provider that has a solar exporting tariff available. Once they have received this any excess electricity you generate can be exported back to the grid and they will pay you per KWh you provide them with, unfortunately this is not a get rich quick scheme as the export tariffs are only a few pence per KWh but it does add up.

Can i save money on my gas bills by having Solar PV installed ?

Yes, IF you have a hot water tank installed in your property, with an electric immersion heater, we can install a Solar Diverter. Once you are not using any power in the property and your batteries are fully charged the solar diverter will divert excess solar to your immersion heater, keeping your tank warm so when your hot water system calls for heat, the boiler doesn't have to work as hard to heat the tank, not using as much gas and therefore reducing your gas bills.
